Sunday Worship
Sing Praises:
Sunday mornings from 8:30 – 9:00
The Bible says, “Make a joyful sound unto the Lord” (Psalm 110:1) We are doing our part with an uplifting sing-song before classes begin. Rodney Bell leads cheerful voices in contemporary and best-loved songs praising God.
Activities
Walking in Faith Classes:
Sunday mornings from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
At Fellowship we strive to “walk the talk.” Knowing about God is not the same as knowing God and following in his footsteps. In our attempt to apply the scripture lessons to our daily lives we are presently looking into the Psalms and Proverbs, where with the help of the writings of Charles Swindoll we are learning to “Live Beyond the Daily Grind”.
“We all have those days – when little problems pile up into crises, when our doubts begin to overwhelm our beliefs, when exhaustion hits and happiness escapes – in short, when life becomes a grind. Is your daily grind fear? This study will help you follow King David’s example as seen in Psalm 27. Perhaps your life is filled with grinding discouragement that follows an unachieved goal. This study will help you rediscover the refreshing promise of Psalm 5. Or perhaps you need to rid your life of the grind of worry. This study will guide you to Solomon’s fatherly advice in Proverbs.”
These classes are now being offered in both English and Portuguese. Come join us as we look into the riches of God’s Word and allow God to speak to your heart as well.
Teen´s Walking in Faith Class:
Sunday mornings from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
Teens ( ages 11 – 17) join our Youth Counselor, Filipe, for a time of sharing concerns and learning how Christians cope during these challenging times. Classes conducted in English/Portuguese on the third floor.
Children´s Sunday School Classes:
Sunday mornings from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
It is never too early for children to begin learning about God´s love for them. Fellowship offers classes for youngsters beginning from age 3. A short lesson and song singing interrupt playtime in the nursery. Children 6 – 10 years have regular classes. Classes are conducted in both English and Portuguese. The classrooms and nursery are located on the third floor.
Morning Worship:
Sunday morning at 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Fellowship provides just the right atmosphere for worshipping God and feeling His presence while surrounded by other believers inside a modest chancellery illuminated by stain-glass windows. Our traditional mainstream worship service is conducted in English. Familiar hymns are led by one of São Paulo´s finest choirs under veteran Marilyn Mangels’ direction. A coffee hour after the service gives time to get to know each other and share ideas. Fellowship has been known as “the Welcome Place” for over 85 years. Come join us.
Junior Church:
Sunday Morning from 10:55 - 11:30
Anna Heloisa de Souza conducts Christian activities for children who are too young to attend the 10:30 worship service. (In the Golden Room on the third floor, in Portuguese)
Evening Worship:
In Portuguese from 6 – 7 p.m.
Some of our congregation prefers to hear the teachings of the Bible in Portuguese. That is when a bilingual pastor-teacher, like Gavin Aitken, becomes a big asset. This is a more informal worship experience where guitars often accompany contemporary hymns of praise. It is held in the Max Mangels Ministry Center (ground floor).
Nursery Facilities: Babies and youngsters under 3 in the mornings
Dona Conceição has been taking care of Fellowship’s youngest participants for many years. We have cribs and toys suitable for the young ones located in an appropriate room on the third floor. The windows have protective guard nets. Parents can enjoy Walking in Faith classes as well as morning services knowing that their children are safe and happy with an experienced babysitter.
